Mobile Application.

Central to the solution is the RubberWay web-based mobile application. The app consists of four distinct questionnaires, adapted to each level of the supply chain: processing factory, intermediary, smallholder, and large plantations.

Using any web-capable mobile device, participants can answer a structured questionnaire that surveys them on environmental, social, and agricultural practices. This is typically facilitated by a natural rubber processing factory, who can either reach farmers directly, or through engagement with intermediary dealers.

Web Dashboard.

From the questionnaires, data points are then aggregated onto your personal web-based dashboard, that allows the visualization of the risks per sustainability topic: social, environment, agricultural training, and commercial transparency. The risk level calculated for each answer to a question can also be visualized.

Data can be seen at multiple scales, from a single processor ‘supply shed’, to a group of factories, or for an entire tire maker’s (or other end user) supply chain.

The information collected is always shown in an aggregated format to protect the identity of the respondents, and to ensure a high degree of integrity in the results provided.

The data reported can be used by individual natural rubber processing factories, or downstream actors like tire makers and other end users to better understand risks within their supply chain.

Interactive Mapping.

RubberWay embeds a mapping system to understand practices and risks in their geographical context. It is made possible by the collection of the GPS point during the interviews. This feature enables you to display the risk level for sustainability topics at a jurisdictional level.

This gives stakeholders (rubber buyers, tire makers, natural rubber processors, car makers etc.) the information they need to locate and mitigate risks with locally targeted interventions.

Personalized Reports.

In addition to the web-based dashboard and mapping that can be accessed through a personal account, RubberWay provides a consultancy service by creating a detailed personalized report which includes in-depth analysis of the data and trends collected.

The report recommends specific mitigations based on findings. It is issued as soon as  the assessment has been completed.
